Big congratulations to Paul Acampora, on his *sixth* book deal, for DANNY CONSTANTINO’S FIRST DATE, and for a second un-named MG novel! Nancy Mercado at Dial Books for Young Readers will publish the books and DANNY will be out this year.

If you know Paul’s writing, you know that this book will be as wise as it is laugh-out-loud funny, and an utter pleasure to read. And if you don’t know Paul’s writing, you should! A bit more about the book:

When Danny Constantino asks his old-friend-turned-Hollywood-movie-star, Natalie Flores Griffin, to his local school dance and homecoming parade, she surprises him . . . by saying yes!

Unfortunately, now everyone in Cuper Cove has something to say about Danny’s love life–especially since Natalie is the hometown hero. Throw in herds of TV reporters and Natalie [more]

Big congratulations to Rachael Allen, on her next book deal for her fourth novel, THE SUMMER OF IMPOSSIBILITIES! This marvelous novel will be published by Erica Finkel at Abrams, and come out next year — and I love it so much. If you’re a sucker for multi-POV books, this is your jam, my friends!

Just a bit more about the book…

Four girls. One summer. And a pact to do the impossible.

Skyler, Ellie, Scarlett, and Amelia Grace are forced to spend the summer at the lake house where their moms became best friends.

One can’t wait.

One would rather gnaw off her own arm than hang out with a bunch of strangers just so their moms can drink too much wine and sing Journey at two o’clock in the morning.

Two are sisters.

I’m so happy to share that Marcie Colleen’s picture book text, SURVIVOR TREE, has sold at auction to Deirdre Jones at Little, Brown!

SURVIVOR TREE tells the true story of the Callery pear tree that stood at the base of the World Trade Center for 30 years and was almost destroyed, only to be pulled from the rubble, coaxed back to life, and eventually replanted as part of the 9/11 memorial.

We’re over the moon that Aaron Becker’s art will bring this story to life. In Marcie’s words, “Books heal. I hope SURVIVOR TREE helps those who need it, like writing it did for me.”

You’ll find it in bookstores in the summer of 2021 — congratulations to Marcie and everyone involved!

Donut is an eleven-year old geography buff who keeps her taxidermied mice hidden in her late mother’s hope chest.  Her pops died eight weeks ago, leaving her an orphan.  Aunt Agnes has moved in, bringing along her lumpy oatmeal, her knitting and a plan to drag Donut off to Boston forever.

Donut stands to lose everything: her friends, her Vermont village, her home, the woods and walks where the memories of her pops are stored up like the bread and butter pickles in canning jars on the shelf.  While Donut dodges the hurt of missing her pops, she and her best friend Tiny plan how to keep her [more]

I’m so happy to share that Paul Acampora’s new MG novel, CONFUSION IS NOTHING NEW, has sold to Nancy Mercado at Scholastic!

This book is a true gem. Generous in spirit, funny and a real pleasure — or, as Paul says, it’s fueled by bighearted 80s rock&roll, a dash of Goonies, and large doses of Cyndi Lauper’s girl-power joy.

Ellie Magari is figuring out what it means to be a girl in the world today, especially when the one role model she could have had (her mother) was never around and she was raised by her hardworking single father who didn’t exactly keep the lines of communication open. Exactly who was Ellie’s mom? And now that she’s gone for good, what does that mean for Ellie?

Fueled by the bighearted sounds of ’80s rock and [more]

I’m so happy to share that Amanda Ashby’s MG ghostly mystery novel Midnight Reynolds and the Spectral Transformer, has sold in a three book deal to Wendy McClure and Eliza Swift at Albert Whitman!

I love this cute and creepy novel — chock full of ghosts and ghost-hunting gizmos. Not to mention a twist that I promise you won’t see coming!

When twelve year-old misfit Midnight Reynolds takes a job helping out eccentric Miss Appleby in the mansion down the street, she never imagined her work would involve battling ghosts. But as it turns out, Midnight and her new employer have quite a bit in common—they were both born on Halloween and have the power to see spirits of the dead. But when Midnight learns more about the history of her town, she starts … [more]
