I am picture book illustrator born and raised in the sunny suburbs of Los Angeles . My work is bold, imaginative, colorful and deeply inspired by my Mexican ancestry. I’m drawn to stories that are funny, sad and beautiful. I especially have a soft spot for characters that are misfits, rule breakers and dreamers.  

I’ve had the privilege of illustrating more than 15 picture books with clients including Harper Collins, Penguin Random House, Philomel and more. When I’m not at my drawing table you can find me talking (ad nauseam) about various punk records with friends, neglecting all my house plants and cherishing time with my family in Portland, Oregon.
